My name is Sue Vost, I am a senior Lecturer in Art History and have been teaching for the Open University for 10 years. My specialist area is the art of the 13th and 14th centuries, on both sides of the Alps.

To get to grips with any work of art, it must be seen as a physical object rather than a flickering image on a TV, a collection of pixels on a screen or a glossy reproduction in a heavy tome!

What I want to share with you when you join me, both on the OU course-related and the general interest tours and gallery visits, is not some dryasdust deconstruction of a piece of canvas, wood or stone, but a deep feeling for every aspect of the work and for the people who made it and loved it.

You will be with like minded people, in a totally unintimidating environment where conversations and debate are ongoing and long term friendships are forged.
